Pour the turpentine into the borax and work the mixture with your hands until it is lump-free.  Add the grated soap, and work it into the mixture of turpentine and borax.  Store in a wide-mouth jar or tin that is easy to open with dirty, greasy hands.  Add a nail brush and pumice stone to make a really nice gift for dad or grandpa or a favorite uncle!

Here's an old family recipe for "Granny's Soap"Once you smell the ingredients or try making the stuff and see all the trouble it is, you sort of wonder why anyone still makes their own!

Making Bubble Bath with soy & shea based gourmet hypoallergenic
CLEANSING BARS

      What you'll need:
1 quart Warm Water in a bucket
              1 gourmet cleansing bar,
           coarsely grated
               3 ounces Glycerine
            (purchased at any drug store)
               1 long-handled wooden spoon
               1 container with pump

Before the soap can be made into a bubble bath, it has to first be made into a liquid.  To do this, grate the bath bar into 1 quart of warm water (this dissolves the soap faster). Mix the soap and water very well, swirling the mixture gently and thoroughly using a wooden spoon.

To convert your liquid soap into bubble bath, gently add the Glycerine, continuing to stir the solution as you're adding it.  Store your soap for use in a container with a pump and any extra in another bottle with a tight seal.

NOTE:  Glycerine has the ability to make bubbles and increase suds. Coconut oil is often used as a substitute for glycerine in modern bubble bath making for its ability to lather, clean and soften, but it costs quite a bit more. Both glycerine and coconut oil are known for their special skin-softening abilities. If you read about the special gourmet bath bars I sell, you'll see that they contain both, as well as essential oils and powerful natural cleansing agents.   Make a batch of this bubble bath to give to Mom or Grandma or sister as a gift.  They'll love it -- especially because it's from you!

You can also buy sweet-smelling, specialty, gourmet, natural and hypoallergenic bubble baths, lotions, room sprays, personal sprays and soaps (like the "manly" ones pictured here)
